Description

Fire cupping is a traditional therapy in which glass cups are placed on the skin to create suction. Using a brief flame to create a vacuum inside the cup, the acupuncturist quickly places the cup on the skin, drawing the underlying tissue upward. This process increases blood flow, loosens fascia and connective tissue, and encourages the body’s natural healing response. Cups are commonly applied to areas such as the back, neck, shoulders, or directly over areas of pain. They are typically left in place for a few minutes before being gently removed by releasing the suction. The smooth surface of the glass cups also allows for gentle gliding along the skin, enhancing the therapeutic effect.
